Plátanos en Tentación: Traditional Sweetness That Wins Hearts

A dessert full of aroma and flavor that is part of the most authentic Cuban recipe collection. Plátanos en tentación stand out for their soft texture and spiced syrup, making them a perfect choice to finish a meal with a sweet and comforting touch.

🥘 Ingredients:

  • 4 very ripe plantains
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons dry wine
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Water (as needed)

👨‍🍳 Step-by-step preparation

1. Prepare the plantains

Remove the peel and cut each plantain into two or three pieces. Insert small pieces of cinnamon into each piece to enhance the aroma during cooking.

2. Sauté with butter

Place a pot over medium heat, add the butter, and let it melt. Add the plantains and move them frequently until they develop a light golden color on all sides.

3. Add sweetness

Add the brown sugar and sprinkle the ground cinnamon. Mix well so the ingredients combine and begin to form a caramelized base.

4. Add liquids

Pour in the dry wine and slightly increase the heat to help the alcohol evaporate. Then add enough water to partially cover the plantains and allow it to come to a boil.

5. Cook gently

Lower the heat, cover the pot, and let it cook slowly until the plantains are tender and the syrup reaches a thick consistency.

6. Final presentation

Remove from heat, transfer the plantains to a serving dish, and carefully remove the cinnamon pieces. Pour the syrup over them and let them rest until they reach room temperature. You can also refrigerate them and serve chilled.
