🥚 Ingredients:

  • 2 egg whites
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • A few drops of lemon juice

 

 

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Preparation:

Place the egg whites in a clean, dry bowl. Beat them at medium speed until they start forming foam. Add the lemon juice and continue beating until soft peaks form.

Once this stage is reached, gradually add the sugar, sprinkling it as if it were rain, while continuing to beat without stopping. The meringue will gain firmness and shine until it reaches that creamy texture that holds on its own: the famous "golden peak".

🧁 Shaping and Baking:

Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or use a spoon to form small portions on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can shape them however you like.

Preheat the oven to 248°F (120°C) with top and bottom heat. Just before baking, lower the temperature to 212°F (100°C) and place an empty tray on the top rack to prevent browning. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside. Once dry, store them in an airtight metal container to preserve their crisp texture.
